Made New Through Prayer

Sermon Summary

Made New Through Prayer

Prayer is not meant to be a performance—it’s meant to be a place of transformation. In Matthew 6, Jesus reminds us that prayer is where renewal begins, not by impressing others, but by meeting with God.

Made-new prayer is private before it’s powerful. Jesus calls us into the quiet place, away from the noise and applause, where our hearts are exposed and shaped by the Father. Real change happens when prayer becomes less about being seen and more about being surrendered.

Made-new prayer also reshapes our desires to match God’s design. When we pray, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done,” we are inviting God to realign our hearts. Prayer doesn’t just ask God to bless our plans—it reforms our plans to reflect His purposes.

Finally, made-new prayer proves God’s work is in us when we pray for those against us. Praying for our enemies is not natural; it’s supernatural. When we begin to pray for those who hurt us, oppose us, or misunderstand us, it reveals that God is doing a deeper work within us—one that moves us from bitterness to grace.

Prayer is not just something we do—it’s something God uses to make us new. As we step into private, surrendered, and grace-filled prayer, we discover that God is shaping our hearts to look more like His.

This week, make space to pray—not to be heard by others, but to be renewed by God.
