Wow, what a wonderful rain storm. 3 inches here in Greenview. And the colors this year are another example of HIS creativity in nature. The latest news on Trevor Jones coming as the new pastor at SVBC is that he has declined to accept the position.One of the elders will explain this Sunday. It has been rumored that it has something to do with his wife’s pregnancy and being around familiar people and surroundings when the baby is due in March. On a happier note, John Wetzig has agreed to fill in while we continue to seek a full-time pastor. As was mentioned last week, the citizens of this great land have spoken and we need to pray that the transition from one presidency to the next will be guided by God’s mighty hand. I heard it said that Trump was going to acknowledge 2nd Chronicles 7:14 during the inauguration of his Presidency…..”If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land. The 47th President can only do so much to try and bring America back from the devastating road we were on, but only God can change hearts. Matthew 12:34- “How could evil men like you speak what is good and what is right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.” A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. So be in prayer for John Wetzig, the transfer of leadership to the new president and God’s will for our church.
