I traded vehicles with my son-in-law this week. He needed my pickup to take my granddaughter’s accumulation to college, so he traded me his car. Now his car is the same make, but different model and year, as my car. So I jumped into it, started it up, and stepped on the gas.
The first thing I noticed was the power. His vehicle, a couple of years newer than mine, had much more ‘get-up-and-go’. I had to adjust the way I stepped on the throttle.
Second, the gauges are different. Technology has advance in the couple of years difference, and he had gauges in different places, that showed different information. It took a while to even find the gas gauge.
Third, his radio stations are all messed up! They don’t even resemble the wise and crafty arrangement I have in my vehicles. Oh, this younger generation!
I guess I’ll have to adjust for the short time he has my pickup.
Scott Valley Berean Church will have some adjusting that we need to make in the coming month. Pastor Brant is preparing to join our congregation, and it may feel like adjusting to a new car. There will be old experiences that we will miss, but there will be new ones coming that will move us forward into the next phase of the church. It may take some time to get used to the changes, but it really is important that we make that adjustment.
I believe the Lord has directed the next steps for Scott Valley Berean Church. I’m praying that we will soon become familiar with the ‘new car’, and that God will use this change to advance His church in Scott Valley.
