As we near to the end of our Advent journey on The Road to Bethlehem, we are reminded that this road is clearly marked by love. Christmas reveals not just that God loves us, but how He loves us. In the humble arrival of Jesus, we see a love that moves toward us, a love that transforms us, and a love that is meant to flow through us to others. Bethlehem shows us that God’s love came down first, works deeply within us, and is ultimately displayed through the way we live and love every day.
First, God’s love came down before we ever looked up. The story of Bethlehem begins with a pursuing God. Long before humanity recognized its need, God stepped into our world. Christmas reminds us that love always takes the first step. Jesus was born not because we reached for God, but because God reached for us.
Because God’s love came to us first, it never leaves us unchanged. God’s love doesn’t just save us, it changes us. The love found in the manger leads to a transformed life. When we truly encounter Christ, His love reshapes our hearts, our priorities, and the way we live. Salvation is not just a moment—it is the beginning of a lifelong transformation.
And a transformed life will always move outward. God’s love is proven by how we love others. The road marked by love does not end at the manger; it continues through our daily lives. Our compassion, forgiveness, generosity, and grace become visible evidence that Christ has come and is at work within us.
As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, may you know the nearness of God’s love in a fresh and meaningful way. Whether this season finds you joyful or weary, full or longing, may the love that came down in Bethlehem meet you right where you are and remind you that you are deeply known and deeply loved.
From our family to yours, Merry Christmas. We are grateful to walk this road of faith with you. May your homes be filled with the peace of Christ, your hearts anchored in His love, and your lives shaped by the hope that Jesus brings—today and in the year ahead.
With Grace and Love,
Pastor Brant
