Spiritual Gifts

Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so, in Christ, we who are many forms one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. (Romans 12:4-6). There are a great number of needs in our Church Family and we are always looking for volunteers to help us out. Consider using your gift now in one of our ministries.

Sunday Morning Ministries

The SVBC Sunday School meets each Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. in the classrooms. One Adult classe is currently being lead by Tim McNames and Buzz Lawson (Room 2).
The Sonshine Club provides excellent child care for your toddlers 3-4 during the Sunday morning service. Under the direction of Christina Bradford, trained volunteers keep your children engaged in fun activities, helping you to enjoy your participation in the worship service.
The SVBC Junior Church meets during the last half of the Morning Worship service – usually from @10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Junior Church is open to 1st to 6th-grade children. In their activities, the children learn more about Jesus and the Bible. From time-to-time, plays, skits, and other events are rehearsed and performed by the Junior Church kids. ** Currently Junior Church is on Summer Break - we hope to return in the Fall **
One of our newest ministries, “The Well” is the answer to that “hard-to-get-started” Sunday morning. Hot, rich and creamy coffee drinks and espresso along with assorted pastries is offered to begin at 8:45 a.m. each Sunday morning. Under the direction of the Fleener family and others “The Well” will help get you kick started for the day.
Cookies, drinks, and great fellowship” is the purpose of our Hospitality Hour. Immediately following the morning service, you can find Dan Kiep and his team of volunteers set up and ready to serve! Join us during this fellowship time – catch up with the latest from your church family members and meet and greet newcomers.

As Christians, we all face trials and tribulations throughout our walk here on the earth. At times, these crises in our lives can become overwhelming. Perhaps you are dealing with issues that just can’t be sorted out – the SVBC Counseling team might be able to help. Our counselors, Lynne Bryan, and Bill and Susie Birch are all mature Christians with a wide background in counseling services and are ready and willing to help. Give the church a call at 467-3715 for more information.
COMMUNITY LUNCH PROGRAM serving the entire Scott Valley.  SVBC provides a hot lunch every Thursday from noon to 1:00 pm. To see the menu for a Thursday, check our Calendar. A suggested donation of $3.00 helps us cover some of the costs. For more info, give us a call at 467-3715. Due to Covid, the Lunch Program is currently on hold. We are praying that we will be able to resume our program in September 2021. We are in need of VOLUNTEERS - please step up and help.
Meals for the Homebound, under the direction of the SVBC Deaconess provides meals for those that, for one reason or another, are unable to prepare and cook meals for themselves or their family. Helping to ease the burden during times of recuperation from an accident, ill-health, or the birth of a baby, Meals for the Homebound’s volunteers provide hot, nutritious meals and are looking forward to serving you. Call the church at 467-3715 for more information.
Under the direction of Gladys Ross and Laura Orosco, the SVBC Seniors Fun Day! has become a “must do” event for our church Senior Citizens. Good food, snacks, games, and fellowship keeps everyone feeling a “little bit younger” than when they first came in. Check the Church Calendar for the next Fun Day!
The SVBC Library, under the direction of Lynda Pollard, is a treasure-trove of Christian books and other media. There are many authors represented in our selections of non-fictional and fictional books. There is no fee, of course, to check out the books and materials, but you will need to check the details of checkout with Lynda. Also, if you are looking for a particular book or article, be sure to check with Lynda – our church family is well-read and may have the item you are looking for and would be willing to share it with you.
