Every time children walk through the doors of our church it warms my heart. I consider it a sacred duty to point each child to Jesus in every way I can. Years ago I heard an old phrase from the education world, “children may forget what you say but they will never forget how you made them feel.” I think that smiles, laughter and fun can light a child’s life and sometimes their entire world. We had a wonderful week of Vacation Bible School this week. Our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Jen Thompson, has done a great job putting together a VBS around the theme of “God Made The World”. There have been a bunch of kids and volunteers running around the church all week. In my mind, there is nothing more wonderful then kids having fun at church, learning God’s Word and hearing about Jesus. Each day we averaged about 40 kids in attendance. We had a team of 15 volunteers. It made me proud of our church and how God is giving us opportunities to point kids to Jesus. We are always looking for volunteers to help in Awana Club and children’s church. If you feel God has gifted you with a heart for children talk to Jen. Every volunteer that works with kids has to attend a child protection class which includes a background check. We always want to ensure a safe environment for our kids. Much of our world lives in a state of moral chaos and confusion. It is a sacred duty and honor to point kids towards Jesus and give them the unchanging Word of God. Thank you VBS workers. It was a great week serving God and serving children.
God Bless You
