Vacation is over. I am back in the office this week. We have had a relaxing time during August and got some home projects done. We have missed our church family. It was nice to be with you all this past Sunday as we heard what God is doing in Japan through our missionaries,the Coles. For the last few years the church board at SVBC has given us the month of August off. It has been a restful blessing which we appreciate. We usually go to Pennsylvania to see my wife’s relatives. We decided to stay home this year and paint our house. Frankly, I wasn’t looking forward to the job.  But it was a wonderful blessing to have some friends from the church show up to help. The job got done in record time and we had a few laughs too. I appreciate Scott Limkeman filling the pulpit in my absence.
The kids are back in school and the fall season is upon us. Remember that church on September 3 will be held at Kidder Creek Camp. Join us as we worship with the Grenada and Weed Berean Churches by the pond at Kidder Creek. Lunch will be served but you have to sign-up. Call Kidder Creek office and let them know.  During August it was a blessing to visit the Weed and Grenada churches for Sunday morning worship. Awana starts soon for the kids. Sign-ups are on September 6. Kick-off night is September 13. If you aren’t in a home Bible study I want to encourage you to join one this fall. At church on September 10 the home Bible studies will be introduced. Check it out and find a home Bible study that works for you. Senior lunch begins on September 12. They are always looking for volunteers. Talk to Ginger Johnston if you want to help. I will be teaching a membership class for eight weeks which begins on September 17 during the Sunday School hour. We will be reviewing the Statement of Faith of our church.
I love our church family and it is great to be back!
