In almost every human enterprise teams work together to make something happen. Teams of people work together to make automobiles. Teams of people work together to make a successful sports team. Teams of people work together in a school to educate children. In a food packing plant employees work together to package food to stock shelves in grocery stores. The same dynamic can be seen in a church. The church gathers to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to build up and encourage believers as well as to proclaim Christ to a lost world. Teams gather in many different areas in a church. In a home Bible study people gather to study God’s Word and encourage one another. In our Vacation Bible School program Jen Thompson has gathered together volunteers to provide an environment where kids can learn about Jesus and have fun. The Senior Lunch Program under the direction of Ginger Johnston cooks nutritious meals for those in need. Ginger has a team of people that gather weekly during the school year to make this happen. There is a wonderful group of volunteers that have been gathering for the last two years to restore the historic church building. I might forget somebody but a few of those include: Myron Johnston, Jerry Hutt, Michael Solomonson, Paul Ross, Mike Thomas, Tammi Callahan, Elaine Peterson and Louise Short. There is a team of wonderful volunteers that lead worship every Sunday and operate the sound system. There is a team of people that run the coffee bar on Sunday morning. Brett has a team of people that minister to our youth group.  I gather with a team of people that work on preaching the Word of God accurately and effectively. This allows me to take a break from preaching as well as train others to preach.  The Body of Christ is about teams of people gathering to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are all at different stages of growth in our walk with Jesus Christ. I am so thankful to be a part of a church that believes in and models teamwork as we reflect the message of Jesus here in Scott Valley and around the globe. Have you found a team to be a part of? Find your spiritual gift and find a team to participate in. In Proverbs it says, “he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” Serving is refreshing because it gets us out of ourselves and our own needs.
God Bless You
