I continue to watch news on the Middle East with keen interest. The situation seems to grow worse by the day and the President of Israel says this will be a long war. I was listening to Joel Rosenberg’s commentary recently. He was answering the question as to whether this was the beginning of the Ezekiel 38-39 war. The Ezekiel 38-39 war is considered by many prophecy experts the “Battle of Armageddon”. In brief, Joel said, “I don’t know”. But he went on to elaborate in the following way. I will paraphrase his comments. “The fighting in Gaza is getting all the headlines right now. It is horrible and tragic. But for Israel long term the greater concern is Lebanon. Russia is no doubt supporting and supplying Lebanon. If Russia begins to aggressively support Lebanon with troops and war materials this situation could escalate seriously and have international implications”. I read a report on one of the Bible prophecy web-sites 3 or 4 years ago that China had bought property in Northern Africa. They had plans to build a military base. A central component of Bible prophecy regarding Ezekiel 38-39 is China and Russia teaming together to fight against Israel. “Look up your redemption draws night” These are certainly exciting times that we live in. Lynne Bryan will be teaching her prophecy book at the Women’s Bible Study on Tuesday morning. If you haven’t read her book I think you will find it helpful.
