Colossians 3:23–24 Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
Last Monday evening we shared a beautiful meal and annual report time. I was thrilled, and surprised, at the number of activities this church is involved with. We received reports from 26 different ministries, and there were a number of others that didn’t share reports. So many of the people of the church are involved, each one using the gifts God has given to serve the body, and the community. I was encouraged by those ministries, and also the large number of congregation members that attended.
As the Apostle Paul reminded us, “It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.” Some of the ministries going on don’t receive many accolades. They might not even be noticed. But the Lord Jesus does notice, and He is the One ultimately that gives the accolades. He is the One we desire to please.
I’m very encouraged that this congregation is not just sitting, waiting for the next pastor. Keep up the good work, and strive to please Jesus in all we do.
