An Awe-inspiring Vision!

I had a wonderful experience last Sunday. After a great morning of worship and fellowship at Kidder Creek Camp, we had the privilege of baptizing ten people, publicly declaring their faith in the Lord Jesus. Those people ranged from the age of 10 to 92. Getting to share in that was awesome in itself.

But even better, at one point I had time to stop and look around. I looked up from the pond I was standing in, and looked at the ‘mass’ of faces lining the bank, watching the ceremony. I wish I could have counted, but that really doesn’t matter. There was row upon row of people lining the pond, straining to see, and then bursting into applause and rejoicing after each of those ten baptisms. It was almost like seeing the “cloud of witnesses” from Hebrews 11 and 12. I think that moved my heart nearly as much as listening to the testimonies of those that were baptized.

Every once in a while the privilege of being a pastor comes clear! That was one of those days!
