One of the on-going topics in the Bible is God’s desire to be with the people He created. The first inkling we see is in Genesis 1&2, where God created the human race to live in fellowship with Him. The Lord walked in the garden with Adam and Eve. Sadly, sin broke that relationship, but it didn’t end God’s desire to be among His people.
At the end of the Bible, the new heaven and earth are described. The new Jerusalem descends from Heaven, “And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,” (Revelation 21:3)
And in between we find the beautiful story of God Himself entering humanity. “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. … No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.” (John 1:14,18)
Now we do not have to wait until heaven to be in the presence of God. His Holy Spirit now dwells in His followers. We can talk with the Father at any time, any place.
“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3) We can enjoy the personal presence of our God, right now! Pastor John
