I like to watch “It’s A Wonderful Life” every year during the Christmas season. I enjoy the sentimental story every time. It suppose it is a bit corny by today’s standards but I love the old black & white nonetheless. There was selfishness, greed and sin in George Bailey’s world just as there is in our contemporary world. Evil and lawlessness can be disheartening as we observe our world become more chaotic. Jesus was born into a world of corruption and injustice. Herod attempted to kill Jesus when he issued the order to have all the babies under the age of two killed. (Matthew 2:16-18) Jesus came into a broken and sinful world to be our Savior. He comes to heal and restore. In Isaiah we find Jesus described in the following ways. “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9) In Micah 5 Jesus is called, “ruler and shepherd”. Every Christmas I consider and meditate on the Messianic title, “Emmanuel” which means “God with us”. God was actually here on earth in the Person of Jesus. This is amazing and wonderful. Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead so we could be saved from our sins and have an eternal home in heaven. I enjoy listening to the Haven of Rest broadcast on KVIP. Charles Morris is the host and he says every day. “It’s all about Jesus!” I couldn’t agree more. God Bless You as you celebrate and worship Jesus especially during this Christmas season.
