Children’s Ministry has always been a priority at the Berean Church. A few weeks ago the elders voted unanimously to hire Jenn Thompson as Children’s Ministry Coordinator. We had a staff meeting this past week. Brett McMorris is our youth pastor. Susie Marshall is our church secretary. Jenn Thompson is our newly hired Children’s Ministry Coordinator. It was a joy to talk about what is happening in various areas of ministry at the church. We brainstormed different ideas. We talked about communicating better between all the different events and activities at the church. We talked about the “one anothers” in the New Testament. Many years ago I heard Bill Birch talking about the “one anothers” of the New Testament. 56 times in the New Testament we are instructed and shown how we are to respond to each other in Biblical community. I have listed some of these examples below.
“love one another” John 13:14
“live in harmony with one another” Romans 12:16
“Stop passing judgment on one another” Romans 14:13
“accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you”
I appreciated Bill’s teaching that day. I never realized how much the New Testament writers stressed this relational concept of “one another”. This is really an issue of personal relationships and how believers in the church work together even though their spiritual gifts are different. God has made us all different. When we “bear with each other” (Colossians 3:13) we can learn from each other and grow in serving and loving as a healthy church should do. This won’t always be easy but it is God’s command for His people in the church in community. People working together from different spiritual gift perspectives is a powerful testimony of God’s love. Jesus said, “if you love one another the world will know you are my disciples”. Remember the “one anothers” in the New Testament. We have much to be thankful for at our church. Scott Valley is a Healing Place. I encourage you to get involved. Find your spiritual gift. Find a place to serve.  Get involved in a home Bible study. Participate in what God is doing in Scott Valley. These are the greatest days for the church of Jesus Christ locally and around the world. The Holy Spirit is working all over the globe to draw people to Jesus. We get to participate in what God is doing.
God Bless You
