Resurrection Sunday is four weeks away! I love Paul’s words in I Corinthians 15:55, “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” I imagine the Apostle Paul celebrating the Resurrection and looking at Satan saying, “you lost the war, God’s people will not live in condemnation and will proclaim eternal life in Jesus Christ throughout eternity!” It thrills my heart. We are inching closer and closer to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. As we see world events unfolding there are clear “signs of the times” all around us. That being said we will be looking at a prophetic section of Scripture this Sunday. We will be in Luke 21. Jesus tells the disciples about the coming destruction of Jerusalem which happened in AD 70. As we have learned when studying prophetic passages we must determine which of Christ’s words apply to the contemporary situation at that time and what words point to the future. In Luke 21:36 it says, “be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” This is a serious warning to God’s people. We live in a turbulent, evil and dangerous world. Satan wants to trip up Christians and divide relationships in the Body of Christ. We can live in a place of rest, assurance and confidence in Christ. But we are also warned to have discernment about evil, sin and temptation. I read the back of the Book and we win! Praise the Lord!!! But let’s be aware of the spiritual battle we are in and be a people of God’s Word and prayer. “watch and pray” Luke 21:36
God Bless You
